He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Mierle; his children, Lisa Hendricks (Dan), Michael Cortez (Darcee), Kristofer Cortez and Caryn Cortez (Bryce Erickson); his granddaughters, Liliana and Elizabeth Cortez; and his niece Melissa Ramirez.
