She was predeceased by: her father William Shuell; her son Anthony "Tony" Pontius; her husband Donald Swiger; and her siblings, Bill and Linda.
She is survived by: her mother Helen Shuell (Wesch); her children, Jeffery Pontius (Victoria) of Cadillac, Ann VanEtten (Al) of Grand Rapids, Robert "Rob" Pontius (Megan) of California, Dennis Pontius (Stephanie) of California, Amanda Paradis (Billy) of Kansas and Samantha Beames (Rusty) of Kansas; her daughter-in-law Tishia Pontius of Evart; and her siblings, John Shuell and Elaine Schmidt. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
