He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles H. Mitchell and Helen Mitchell (Gregg); his wife Wilma E. Thompson; and his siblings, Aliene Sharp, Dorothy Keeler, Susan LaGrow, Bill Mitchell and Jack Mitchell.
He is survived by: his children, Steven Mitchell (Mary) of Tustin, Charlene "Sherry" Armstead (William) of Falmouth, Douglas Mitchell (Lori) of Marion and Donald Mitchell (Kelly) of Tustin; his foster daughter Sherry Johnson of Tustin; and his sister Kathy Rosted of Manton. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren.
