He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Ferry and Lillian Ferry (Vondette); his wife Judith Dee Ferry (McBain); his children, David Ferry Jr. (Dawn), Katherine Yancy (Earl), Carol DeCamillo and Heather Alexander (Bruce); his stepsons, Doug Beynon (Lori) and Christopher Beynon; his siblings, Lance Ferry, Jill Jones and Jeri Escott; his sister-in-law Janice Bails; his son Dean Ferry; and his sister Cheryl. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and seven step great grandchildren.
