He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Sr. Gildner and Ruth Gildner (Burton); and his son Scott Gildner. He is survived by: his children, Gina Denhof (Chad), Laura Dillon (Glenn), Angie Lonero, Kimberly Lonero, Tammy MacDonald and Shane Macdonald; and his siblings, Gaylord Gildner (Roxanne), Doug Gildner (Cherie), John Gildner (Connie), Kenneth Gildner (Mariacristina), Marlene Aumick, Dianne Colvin (Rob) and Anne Brechting (John). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
