He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Finnerty and Doris Finnerty (Frisk); his father-in-law James Erickson; his son Deal Earl Finnerty; his brothers, Leroy and Dennis Finnerty; and his brother-in-law John Swanberg.
He is survived by: his son Dean Finnerty; his wife Jane Finnerty (Erickson); his mother-in-law Doris Hall of Ludington; his daughter-in-law Sherrise Finnerty; his granddaughter Amber Hiscock; his great grandchildren, Jahari Dean, Malaki and Messiah of Grand Rapids; his siblings, Deloris (Michael Brinks), Maxine Swanberg, Alvin (Alice Finnerty), Larry Finnerty of Cadillac and Ann; and his siblings-in-law, Tom Gault of Troy and Sandy Erickson of Marysville. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
