With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Carl Edema Jr. (Byron Center, Michigan), who passed away on December 16, 2023 at the age of 60. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Marlene; his parents, James Carl Sr. and Karen Edema; and his in-law Mary Deverman. He is survived by: his children, Katelynn Edema, Kendralyn Vela (Trent), Karolyne Edema, Brandon Miller (Anna) and Lane Carpenter (Emily); his grandchildren, Payton Barth and Oaklynn Vela; his siblings, Brenda Westrate, Gwendolyn Rahrig (Kent) and Wandalee Homrich; and his in-laws, Denise Chalmers (Cam), Dale Deverman Jr. (Mary), Kevin Deverman, Tamara Waayenberg (Ken), Tyson Deverman (Nikki), Heath Deverman (Jessica) and Marcie Stark (Dylan). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In honor of Jimi and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Edema family for funeral expenses.

“hi im scott jimis neighbor, i met jimi, i thought cool a good neighbor, got to know him better, we talkd aftertearin up th front lawn wth th race quad, we talked a while, then anothr day in thpole barn working on his tractor, again jus passing by he was cutn wood,then again about marlene, i teared up but jimi was cool, strong ,and well just a genuine down t earth guy. i,m still thinkn of him an you kids,god bless”
