He was predeceased by: his wife Pearl; his sister Susie Heys (Ron); and his granddaughters, Angela and Andrea Pittman. He is survived by: his children, Steve Grooters (Tami), Sheryl Pittman and Diane Grooters (Greg); his grandchildren, Rebecca Fortuin (Mike), Matt Grooters (Jory), Ashley Grooters, Kristyn Pittman and Andrew Pittman; and his siblings, Marv Grooters (Laurie) and Lorraine Zinger (Gary). He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in memory of Hank may be made to Covenant Christian Reformed Church.
