He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ulysses Simbler Jr. and Dorothy Mae Simbler (Milton); his former spouse Phylllis Pollard; his wife Phyllis; his stepchildren, Cameron Pollard, Aaron Pollard and Ritreshia Pollard; and his sister Jacquline Ann Simbler. He was also cherished by fourteen grandchildren.
