He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Whisnant and Jewell Whisnant (Garrison); his wife Debra Whisnant; his son Nathan Whisnant; and his brothers, Fred Whisnant and Kenneth Whisnant.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald Whisnant, Jr. (Melissa) and Brandie King-Schmitt (Eugene); and his brothers, Paul Whisnant and Don Whisnant. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.
