He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Thompson and Grace Thompson (Reynolds); and his siblings, Harold, Pete, Arthur, Mack, Dallas, Terry Thompson, Charles Adkins, Helen Hyder, Ethel Justice and Dolly Star.

He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Daugherty; his daughters, Melissa Gath and Annette Stimson; his grandchildren, Brandon (Kiah), Zachary (Emma), Kayla (Terrance) and Taylor; his great grandchildren, Marley, Lilianne and Posie; his brothers, Irland "Arnold" Thompson, Kenny (Sue Thompson) and Eugene (Ruth Ann Thompson); and his sister-in-law Penny Thompson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
