With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Burl G. Grimsley Sr. of Burton, Michigan, born in Arbyrd, Missouri, who passed away on July 14, 2023 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Orion Grimsley and Josie Grimsley (Ray); his wife Patricia Piper; his daughters, Tina Grimsley and Rosie Thornton; and his siblings, Doyle, Bobby, Tommy and Joleine.
He is survived by: his children, Myrian Vanderhoff (Charles), Barbara Vliet (Paul), Lelia Thornton, Brian Grimsley (April), Walker Thornton (Gail), Kevin Grimsley (Dana), Burl Grimsley, Jr., Jack Thornton (Connie) and William Grimsley; and his siblings, Donny, Rick and Erlene. He is also survived by 33 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
