It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alvin Mathenia of Burton, Michigan, who passed away on January 22, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mathenia and Melvina Mathenia (Wright). He is survived by: his wife Nancy Charles; his children, Erik Mathenia (Amy) and Niki Pyrc (Ray); his grandchildren, Joshua, Chantelle, Gabrielle Pyrc, Madeline, Jens and Danica Mathenia; his siblings, Harold Mathenia and Mary Hockaday; and his friend Gene Wylie. He is also survived by other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Allen Funeral Home (9136 Davison Rd, Davison, MI 48423). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Great Lakes National Cemetery (4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442).
