He was predeceased by: his siblings, Jim O'Brien (Irene), Tom O'Brien, Maurice O'Brien (Wilma), Jack O'Brien, William O'Brien, Dennis O'Brien (Margaret) and Kate Cone.

He is survived by: his spouse Orpha "Dottie" Carr; his children, Douglas O'Brien (Karen) of Port Huron, Kelly Peace (Joe) of Oakridge, TN and Jean Petershack (Dave) of San Antonio, TX.; his grandchildren, Kristine Stalker (Terry), Jeanette Dossin, Joseph Peace (Janet), Gregory, Matthew, Declan and Clair Petershack; his great grandchildren, Nicholas, Emily Stalker, Jase, Brayden Dossin, Brandon, Eric, Tyler and Kayden Peace; and his sister-in-law Joan O'Brien.
