He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Dean and Opal June Layman (Criswell). He is survived by: his wife Amy Ilene Merrifield; his children, Angela Layman of Portage and Scott Layman (Amanda) of Perry; his grandchildren, Austin, Kalin and Evan; his stepchildren, Deborah Recod of Sturgis, Denise Davenport of Defiance, Ohio and Darren Bowdish of Kalamazoo; his sister Judy Hostetler (Duane); and his niece Dawn of Arizona. He is also survived by four step-grandchildren.
