He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Gates and Marian Gates; his siblings, Gerritt Gates, Bertha Dewitt and Bennie Gates; and his grandchildren, Karen, Jacub and Olivia.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Gates; his children, Amanda Snyder (Shawn) and Bud Gates (Wilma); his grandchildren, Zach and Hayli Snyder; and his siblings, Gertie Merrill, Carrie Wiley (Donn), Beverly Jipping (Rich Gregory) and John Gates. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Earl, contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
