She was predeceased by: her former husband Jim Freds; her brothers, Floyd Hughes, Lloyd Hughes and Clarence Hughes; her sisters-in-law, Patricia Hughes and Wilma Hughes; and her mother-in-law Mary Chaffee.
She is survived by: her husband Bruce Chaffee of Burlington; her sons, Rick Freds (Kathy) of Burlington, John Freds (Chris) of Oxford and James Freds (Mindi) of DeWitt, VA; her brothers, Roger Hughes (Mary) of Burlington, Leo Hughes (Carol) of Burlington and Robert Hughes of Burlington; and her siblings-in-law, Mike Chaffee and Bonnie Covert of Battle Creek. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family asks that guests to both events wear a mask.
