He was predeceased by: his father William E. Barney; his wife Mildred King; his mother Mavis Bowerman (McCrumb); his son Kurtis Barney; and his granddaughter Kelli Jo Cryderman.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Barney (Scott Badders) of Quincy and Kim Bridges (Tim) of Burlington; his grandchildren, Devin Barker (Jennifer Halder), Lauren Forker (Brandon), Courtney White (Hailey), Tyler Klopfenstein (Devin), Lance Klopfenstein (Sarah Meints) and Katlynn Bridges; his great grandchildren, Dillyn, Carter, Talynn, Oaklyn, Abilene, Knox and Collins; his brothers, Steve Barney (Gretchen) of Petoskey, Larry Barney (Linda) of The Villages and Robert Casteline (Debbie) of Petoskey; his half-brother Jim Bowerman of Tennessee; and his brother-in-law Roger King (Diane) of Battle Creek. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
