He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Svec and Anastasia Svec (Fryzelka); his wife Sandra Louise Cogswell of Traverse City; his sister Elizabeth; and his brother-in-law Ron Todd.
He is survived by: his brothers, Charles (Linda) and Albert Svec; his nephews, Eric (Kimberly), Todd (Suzan) and Jason (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Tyler (Jessica), Jordan (Amelia), Karina Scott (Brian), Ruth Burt (Christopher), Isaac, Levi, Caleb and Louisa; his foster daughters, Helen and Joan; and his grandson Dillon. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
Memorial donations can be made to the local food pantry where George volunteered.
