He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Habel and Roseanna Habel; his wife Gloria; his granddaughter Hailey Zielke; and his great grandchildren, Isaiah and Leland Walkden.

He is survived by: his children, Scott Habel (Jeffrey Keller), Stephanie Smith (Derrick), Rosanna Weinberg (Matthew), Thomas Habel Jr. (Rosalinda) and Joshua Habel; his siblings, Tim Habel, Jane, Jacqi and Judy; and his grandchildren, Jacob, Cara, Cody, Caleb, Mattalyn, Kylie, Grace, Thomas, Levi, Ethan and Dakota.
