He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Mary Mackie and Alexander Mackie; his wife Janet; his son Scott Mackie; his brother Paul Mackie; his siblings-in-law, Richard Mann, Jodean Mann and Phyllis Mackie; his children, Pamela Malott (Dan), Sherri Martinie (Brian), Jerry Mackie, Stephanie Santos (Paulie) and Mark Mackie (Abby); his nephew Michael Mann; and his nieces, Barbara Mann and Lindsay Mackie. He was also cherished by 16 grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the John Mackie Memorial Fund to be utilized towards youth programs in Buchanan, yet to be determined.
