He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Jonathan William Bell and Marietta Julia Bell (Gleason); his former wife Elaine Helen Backus; his wife Irene June Salisbury; his in-laws, Rhinold, Hattie Backus, Harold and Wilma Salisbury; and his siblings, Jay, Robert (Mabel), Lyle (Agnes), Norman (Gailya), Lester (Elizabeth), Richard (Ann), Harold, Kenneth and June (Marvin).
He is survived by: his children, Pamela Capps (David) of Claypool, IN, Julia Burks (Dale) of Niles, MI and Timothy Bell (Dawn) of Buchanan, MI.; his grandsons, David Capps III (Tori), Charles Burks, Jonathan Capps (Jennifer) and Zechariah Capps (Jasmine); his great grandchildren, Jasper Capps, Dax Capps, Maxwell Capps, Elliana Capps and Quinton Capps; and his sisters-in-law, Alice and Terri. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Hoven Funeral Home (414 E Front St, Buchanan, MI 49107). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
