He was predeceased by: his parents, John Slocum and Edna Slocum. He is survived by: his wife Luella Slocum; his children, Ben Jr. (Donna), Marti Walls (Randy), Tim (Cindy) and Tom (Dawn); his sister Jennie Hoover; his grandchildren, Josh Keefer (Brie), Atina Slocum, Erin Stanfill (Andy), Nate Keefer (Nikki), Amber Ralph (Peter), Tammy Stattler (Shawn), Ashlyn Kannenberg (Kenny), TJ Slocum and Isabella Davidson; and his close friend Karen Nave. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hoven Funeral Home (414 E Front St, Buchanan, MI 49107). A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
