With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Elden William Karhu (Bruce Crossing, Michigan), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 16, 2024 at the age of 93. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Karhu and Elina Karhu; his sisters, Elaine Lenz, Betty Krocker and Ruth Cronkright; his grandson Elden Karhu; his son-in-law Herb Sanford; and his wife Caroline.
He is survived by: his children, Addie Sanford and Bill Karhu (Debbie); his sister Shirley Elsner (Ken); his brother-in-law Richard Cronkright; his grandchildren, Jean Sheets (Alex), David Sanford (Holly), Cory Lorenz (Krystal), Chris Karhu (Stacey), Alyssa Sandford, Alonzo Sanford and Rebecca Fleming (Bill); his great grandchildren, Alexis, Justin, Rochelle, Clayton, Savannah, Allan, Jacob, Eli, Autumn, Hayden, Taylor, Cameron Lorenz, Kyle, Bryce, Aly Karhu, Eastyn, Avery and Jayger Fleming; and his great great grandchildren, Noah Steel and Arthur Hulse. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
