It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Effie Thomas of Bruce Crossing, Michigan, who passed away on October 17, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Metos and Jennie Metos (Pelkola); her former husband Steve Thomas; her husband Oscar Ivio; and her siblings, James, George, John, Robert Metos, Mary DeZur (Tom), Jenny Koski (Bob), Katherine Moilanen (Bill) and Dorothy Metos.
She is survived by: her children, Edward Ivio (Jodi) and Dolores Leppanen (Dan); her grandsons, Kevin Ivio (Courtney) and Eric Ivio (Amy); and her siblings, Alex Metos (Brenda) of Bruce Crossing, Thomas Metos of Milwaukee, WI and Sylvia Sain (Sam) of Marquette, MI. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
