It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Shafer (Brooklyn, Michigan), born in Gary, Indiana, who passed away on April 26, 2019, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Hammes and Clara Hammes; her husband Donald Shafer; and her grandson-in-law Josh Ellis. She is survived by: her children, David (Diann) of Bremerton, Dale of Onsted and Donita of Galloway, Ohio; her siblings, Henry Hammes and Clara Kovacs; and her grandchildren, Lauri Ellis, Jessica Shafer, Craig Shafer, Erin Shafer (Matthew Culver) and Melissa Shafer.
