He was predeceased by: his parents, Ahti Tormala and Ellen Tormala (Waltanen); his brothers, Raymond Tormala and Paul Tormala; his siblings-in-law, Delores Pence, Arlene Harden, Teresa Tormala, Kathleen Forsman, Nancy Niemi, Lawrence Niemi and Harold Pence; and his goddaughters, Natalie and Peggy Sue.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Tormala (Niemi) of Onnela; his sons, Kevin Tormala (Julie) of South Range, Joseph Tormala (Sheila) of Chassell and Jeffrey Tormala (Alyssa) of Oregon City, Oregon; his grandchildren, Katrina Tormala, Stephen Tormala, Rachel Tormala and Jaci Tormala; his great grandchild River Ann Russell; his brothers, Gary Tormala (Joyce) and John Tormala of Toivola; his siblings-in-law, Joan Perry of Ishpeming, Lorelei Niemi of White Pine, Stanley Niemi of Ontonagon, William Forsman of Hancock and Earl Harden of Boca Raton, Florida; his uncle Michael "Willie" Waltanen of Toivola; and his godchildren, Lora, Duane, LiZanne and Michael. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
