Deborah Sutton Obituary

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, beginning at 4:00 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church of Richland.

Age 71, passed away at Bronson Hospital on April 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Battle Creek, MI, the daughter of the late Harold and Shirley (Davis) Mann. She was the first born of triplets which she always thought was special. Debbie was the most kind, selfless, giving, and loving woman who spread joy to those around her. Her warm smile, positive attitude and immense generosity will be missed by all who love and knew her. Debbie loved serving others, which led to a career in nursing as a Registered Nurse which brought her joy and pride. She had a fondness for children and worked in the Bronson Labor and Delivery Unit for more than twenty years. She would later retire from Bronson Lakeview Hospital where she worked as an RN in the emergency room. Debbie had the utmost respect and compassion for those she cared for and continued her nursing career into retirement as a nurse at the Sherman Lake YMCA Youth Camp for eighteen years. When not working she enjoyed crafting, was especially gifted at cross-stitch, and spent many hours in her rose garden. She loved the color pink, and it was a staple of her style. Debbie loved meeting new people and making new friends. She was outgoing yet humble, and her heart and home were always open. Family meals and holidays were always enjoyed at Debbie's home. The real light of her life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her priority was to be involved in their variety of activities and accomplishments and rarely missed an event or activity. She was supportive of their goals, took time to listen and always had a word of wisdom. Her grandchildren brought her so much joy, everyone who knew her understood how proud she was of her children and grandchildren. Debbie leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived and she will be greatly missed. On August 26, 1978, she married Nicholas Sutton who survives. She is also survived by two children, Trevor (Beth) Sutton and Carrie (Ron) Davis; three grandchildren, Addison Sutton, Oliver and Clara Davis; two siblings, Dan (Linda) Mann, Donna Anderson; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Debbie was also preceded in passing by a brother, Tom Mann.
