He is survived by: his children, Adam Shields of Brimley, MI, Elizabeth Shields of Brimley, MI, Patricia Shields of Brimley, MI, Violet Shields of Brimley, MI and Walter Shields Jr. of Brimley, MI; his grandchildren, Theresa, Elaina, Carter, Hudson and Bryson; and his sister Patricia Burby (Chuck) of Sault Ste. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to help with funeral expenses.
