He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Elizabeth. He is survived by: his daughters, Susan J. Carmichael (Kevin) and Dianne E. Bright; his grandchildren, Christina P. Bright, Brenna Navarro (Eric), Dakota Klein, Wyatt Klein and Morgan Klein; his great grandchildren, Kayla Packer and Sonia Navarro; his brother Francis Clauss (Mary Jean); his brother-in-law Harry W. Graf, Jr. (Virginia); his daughter Patricia A. Frick; his grandchildren, Shawna Bevin Carmichael, Ashley Maureen Carmichael and Kerry Lee Carmichael; and his siblings, Elizabeth Bloomfield (Gerry), Dorthea Jantz (Al), Eleanor Culik (Rudy), Julius Clauss, Jr. (Marie) and Mary Ann Clauss. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
