Marjorie Jane Patterson Obituary
Marjorie (Marge) Jane Patterson, age 87, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024, in Brighton. She was born December 1, 1936, in Lincoln, Michigan, the daughter of Lawrence and Erma (Laub) Dellar. A 1954 Graduate of Oscoda High School, Marge was employed by the Internal Revenue Service as Taxpayer Assistance Manager. An avid gardener who loved every flower, she enjoyed playing euchre with friends and family, and being involved in her crafts of painting and sewing. A musician, Marge enjoyed every marching band at a football game or parade and was a member of the Livingston County Concert Band where she played the French Horn. One never to slow down, she ran the Alaska Marathon in her 60's, flew in a fighter jet in her late 70's, climbed the hills to work in her flower garden until the very last, and never lost her sense of humor. There was never a cat she did not love. Every grandchild and great-grandchild made her day brighter and she truly loved every time she could be part of their lives. Higgins Lake was Marge's favorite place where she enjoyed gardening and living with her husband.
She is survived by sons Michael (Kerri), Ronald (Linda), Lawrence (Melissa) and Donald (Cheryl) Staley. Grandmother of Erin (Chuck) Stirdivant, Lauren Staley-Martin, Dustin (Carol Lee) Johnston, Ashley (Jonathan) Branoff, Davis, Abigail, Shannon, Logan, Kelsey and Oliva Staley.
