He was predeceased by: his parents, George Mitte and Loretta Mitte; and his sister Martha Copenhaver (Mitte). He is survived by: his wife Linda Mitte (Welch); his children, Juleece Swigart (Matthew Swigart), James Mitte II (Christina) and Joseph Mitte; his grandchildren, Preston Swigart, Gavin Swigart, James Mitte III and Ella Mitte; and also Jane Prosser (Mitte).
The lying in state will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (711 Rickett Rd, Brighton, MI 48116). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
