He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Robar Hardy and Raymond Francis Hardy; and his siblings, Shirley Ekola Hardy and Richard "Chum" Hardy. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Loomis Hardy; his children, Jason Hardy (Maddison Uhley) and Marcia Deyoung Hardy (Robert Walker); his grandchildren, Dawson Deyoung, Jolene Deyoung and Chace Hardy; and his siblings, James Hardy, Pam Capaldi and Debbie Dickie.

Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, a Private Family Service followed by Military Honors will be held with interment taking place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
