He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston Helms, and Clara Helms, Sr. (Wolford). He is survived by: his wife Linda Schmidt; his daughter Sarah Helms; his granddaughters, Savannah Tucker and Phoebe Knapp; his sister Mary Haak; and his nephews, Frank and Nicholas Haak.
