He was predeceased by: his father Harold Giles; his son James "Jim" Giles; his brothers, Evert and Raymond Giles; his brothers-in-law, Bob, Jim Simmons and Gary Childs; and his parents-in-law, Orlo and Edna Simmons.
He is survived by: his mother Helen Giles (McClintic); his wife Sondra Simmons; his children, David Giles (Brenda) and Linda Varner (Paul); his siblings, Duane Giles (Karen) and Sharon Childs (Jack Joley); his grandchildren, Stacey Ensz (Chris), Lindsey Austin (Gregg), Zachary Varner (Stephanie), Justin Varner (Jessica), Elise Hoogland (Mitch) and Maggee Giles; and his siblings-in-law, Gale Simmons (Marilyn), Kay Blackman (Bob), Nadean Giles (Jim Gillis) and Charlotte Simmons. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church, Breckenridge.
