It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Walter D. Coyle (Boyne City, Michigan), who passed away on January 31, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter J. Coyle of Okmulgee, OK and D. Marie Brauner of Flint; and his siblings, Catherine Ann, Michael D. and Patrick T. Coyle.
He is survived by: his wife Susan (Lampke) of Muncie, IN; his children, Walter Kelly of Bonita Springs, FL, Gina Marie of Waltham, MA, Andrew Daniel of Bonita Springs, FL and James Matthew of Palo Alto, CA.; his grandsons, Emmett J. Coyle of Bonita Springs, FL and H. Walter Watkins of Couer d'Alene, ID.; his stepsons, Richard Benson of Anderson, IN and Rob Benson (Amy) of Naperville, IL.; his stepgrandchildren, Dylan Benson (Abbie) of Charleston, IL, Olivia Benson of Chicago, IL and Charles Benson of Lexington, KY; his stepgreat-granddaughter Willow Benson; and his sisters-in-law, Marianne Coyle of Jeffersonville, IN and Sandy Coyle of Louisville, KY.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Matthew Catholic Church (1303 Boyne Ave, Boyne City, MI 49712). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Walter was an ardent believer and supporter of Catholic education and requested that memorial donations be directed to Saint Xavier High School in Louisville, KY and/or Saint Michael's Academy in Petoskey, Ml.
