It is with great sadness that we announce the death of MaryAnne Modjeska-Hallen of Boyne City, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on December 17, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Vermeersch and Anne Marie Vermeersch (Matthee); her former husband Robert Modjeska; her husband Gerald Hallen; and her sister Margee Ruggles.
She is survived by: her daughter Katherine Cain (Michael) of Boyne City; her siblings, Johanne Lassaline, Katherine Vermeersch of Elk Rapids and Frederick Vermeersch (Kay) of Central Lake; and her grandchildren, Karalyn Cain (Angad Chadha) of Chicago, IL, Allison Cain Washington DC (Grant Schroll), Madelyn Cain of Grand Rapids and Jillian Cain of Boyne City.
