With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James H. Matthew Sr. of Boyne City, Michigan, who passed away on March 28, 2024 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John M. Matthew and Zola A. Matthew (Easton); his wife Barbara May Bussing; and his siblings, Ira Matthew (Margaret), Perry Matthew (Violet), Delores Hull (Ted), Mildred Burns (Burt), Helen Cantor (Forest) and Lillian Dollarhide (John).
He is survived by: his children, Jim Matthew (Kathy), Jane Noble (Jerry), Becky Cooper (Jeff), Chris Hayden and Sarah Towne (Tom); his grandchildren, Mike (Casey), Katie (Eric), Chelsea (Christopher), Laura (Derek), Sam, Dan (Stephanie), Jennifer, Andrew (Kyla), Elizabeth, Aaron (Heather), Tracy (Nick) and Haley (Chase); his close friend Lilly Banner; his sister-in-law Leatha Wilgus; and also Barbb Young (Mike). He is also survived by his 13 great-grandchildren (one more due soon); his two great great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest a donation in James's memory to Christ Lutheran Church or Grandvue Medical Facility.
