It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Gerard Matthews in Boyne City, Michigan, born in Flint, Michigan, who passed away on January 25, 2025, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint David leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Adrian Matthews and Doris Matthews; his daughter Jamie Matthews (McDougall); and his brother Robert Matthews. He is survived by: his sister Mary Anne Matthews (Gerry Wasageshik); his grandchildren, Bailee McDougall, Rylee McDougall and Maddox; his great grandchildren, Malekai and Freya; and his close friends, Craig and Stacy Carrier.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Stone Funeral Home & Cremation Services (6038 Prospect St, Indian River, MI 49749). A rosary was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
