He was predeceased by: his siblings, Lloyd Thompson (Betty), Millie Bell (Leonard), Merle Thompson (Elaine), Rose Michell (Gerald), Vivian Foster, Geneva Lanphar (Bob) and Lila Tower (Jack).
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Mae Austin; his children, Robert Russell Thompson (Tina) of Belvidere and Dorothy Irene Thompson of Boon; his grandchildren, Mitch Thompson (Kristin), Ashley Majeski (Matt) and Alex Stoppa (Samantha); his great grandchildren, Jack, Cecilia, Mattison, Brayden and Hadley; his sister Barbara Taylor (Doug); his parents-in-law, Linnie Jensen, Russ Austin (Joan), Elda Gilmore (Charlie), Nancy Berenter (Joel), Lew Austin, Jerry Austin (Anna), Larry Austin, Mary Austin, Laura Simerson (Everett) and Paul Austin (Lynn); and his grandchildren, Rob, Don and Tammy Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Dementia Research.
