“Dear Marjorie and loved ones, I just wanted to share my heartfelt sympathy. Words are not enough. As a child, I remember stories and laughter shared when Jim and you would come to visit us (Bill and Leah) in Sedalia. Jim always had a kind smile and shared his humor. As an adult, that fondness only grew. Hebrews 11:1 is reassuring, I have faith that one day we will all be together again, I am certain of it. My thoughts and love are with you all. Love & hugs across the miles, Sabrina (Young) Platt”

“Jim stayed with our family (Jinx and Eunice) one summer during the MO State Fair, in the 1950's. He worked at the Fair. I would follow him to work, walking on the rails of the railroad tracks. Jim could balance himself on those ties all the 3/4 mile and never fell off! I must have fallen over 50 times. To this day I am still amazed and believe he had magnets in his shoes...ha-ha. Many fun memories of playing on the farm with Pooch(dog) and riding Cookie(cow). Love your "brother" Buddy Scott.”

“Every visit you made was special. Always remembering the "Fluty Flakes" cereal we shared at our house on 9th Street in Sedalia. Good times and moments shared until we meet again. Lest you have no sorrows...a part of the scripture from 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18...comfort one another with these words. Special love to you brother, from Jerry and Dianne.”

Sab Platt wrote a sympathy message

“One fond memory was of Jim getting Uncle John's house ready to sell. He went to buy paint, I forgot he had lead foot, it became scare Leah time, by God's grace we survived. Next, Marjorie and I taped up the house windows, then we see Jim, dancing with the paint gun, spraying right out of the can! Having a blast! He finished the whole house that way. Jim always had a way of making work look fun and bringing joy to all those around him. Memories from the heart, prayers, love from your cousin Leah.”
