He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Empson and Edna Empson; and his son Larry Empson. He is survived by: his wife Virginia; his children, Lana Berry, Tim Empson (Robin) and Dan Empson (Teresa); and his grandchildren, Michelle Starbuck, Tiffany Tranker, Tim Empson, Matt Empson, Andy Empson, Stephine Empson, Ann Empson and Danny Empson.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Caring Circle Hospice.
