She was predeceased by: her husband Arthur Y. Martin; her grandson Kenyatta Chapman; her parents, Edgar, Sr. Chapman and Idella Chapman; and her siblings, Gloria James, Edgar, Jr., Glen Dennis, Helen Rhomphf, Gladys McNairy, Iris Chapman and Judy Chapman.
She is survived by: her children, Yolanda (Danny), Tanya (Mark) and Craig (Carrie); her grandchildren, Dequan, Deon, D'Marcus, Jasmine, Cortez, Cornelius, Earl, Burgundy, Tiekkia, Deneshia, Chandra (Bryce) and Zaria; her siblings, Jeraldine Wells of Little Elm, TX, Rita Chapman of Muskegon, MI, Willie Mae Walton of Muskegon, MI, Carol Melton (Calvin) of Muskegon, MI, Elizabeth Young (Chester) of Muskegon, MI, Inez (Hervey Taylor) of Lincoln, CA, Loretta Weary of Jackson, MS, Michelle Chapman of Lansing, MI., Robert Chapman of Muskegon, MI and James Chapman of Pensacola, FL.; her siblings-in-law, Arlington Rhomphf of Houghton Lake, MI, Holsey James, Sr. of Muskegon, MI and Dr. Delsa Chapman of Lansing, MI; her aunt Elizabeth Groves of Chicago, IL; and her uncle Isaac Stamps, Sr. of Cary, MS. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and close friends.
Mae Katherine Chapman Martin, age 77 of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, died peacefully at her home on December 12, 2021, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease, surrounded by her loving family.
