He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Lucille; his siblings, Roosevelt, Alice, Willie Esther and Robert; and his sons, Michael Jr and Jimmie Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Lee; his siblings, Mary Emma Thomas, Johnnie Mae Daniels, Louella Mosley and Raymond Cochran (Mary); his children, Steven Tatum, Brian Tatum, Jeffrey Tatum (Sandra), Carla Monier, Dwayne Tatum (Shunta) and Burton Woodard (Velma); his grandchildren, Kahalalai, Marcel, Jasmine, Lacy, Destiny, Sydney, Kendall, Cassondra, Vincent, Stephen, Steven, Shamira, Nya and Mack; his daughters, Sybra Byrd and Ibeta McClenny; and his grandchildren, Keith, Kyle and Kindel. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
