He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Samuel and Mabel Samuel; his daughters, Carol Diane and Patricia Ann; and his brother Robert (Julie).

He is survived by: his wife Diane; his son Bruce (Lynn); his grandsons, Ethan and Bryce; his stepchildren, Lori (Tom), Brian (Jennifer), Tim and Sean (Danyelle); and his stepgrandchildren, Megan, Shannon, Erin, Morgan, Lilia, Brendan, Liam and Harper.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Folds of Honor, the Michigan Chapter.
