He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Bates and Margaret Price (Knapp); and his grandparents, Leo J., Mary Knapp (Hudson), Harry Bates and Irene Price (Lyons).
He is survived by: his sisters, Judith Gray (William) and MarySue Ryan (Edward); his nieces and nephews, William Gray (Kristina), Ryan Spilhaus (Bethany), Tyler Spilhaus, Matthew Ryan (Adriana), Kaly Spilhaus and Kaitlyn Adams (Chris); his great-nieces, Lillian Gray, Robin Gray and Mia Adams; and his great-nephew Griffin Spilhaus.
