He was predeceased by: his parents, David Kohler and June Kohler (Arndt); his son Harold Clother; and his siblings, Jean Schnicke and Robert Kohler.
He is survived by: his spouse Meshelle Curtice; his children, Kurt Kohler of Alabama, Dana Kohler of Oklahoma, Mary Clother of Grand Haven and Tonya Carnes (Larry) of Big Rapids; and his sister Karen Moyer. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; one great grandchild.
