He was predeceased by: his brothers, Victor Christie (late Adrienne) and Theodore Christie; and his parents, Maxwell Christie and Sonya Christie. He is survived by: his spouse Mynetta Christie; his children, Dr. Helen Edelberg (Jay), Leona Christie and Gavin Christie; his grandson Dr. Daniel Edelberg; and his siblings, Lester Christie (Linda), Melodie Rawel (late Alan) and Nina Al-Bahrani (Raad).

A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Davidson Hermelin Chapel at Clover Hill Park Cemetery (2425 14 Mile Rd, Birmingham, MI 48009). A burial was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 3:45 PM at the Clover Hill Park Cemetery (2425 14 Mile Rd, Birmingham, MI 48009). A shiva was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 and on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the All Seasons (111 S Elm St, Birmingham, MI 48009).
