He was predeceased by: his father Cecil Palmer; his grandson Brandon Hoadley; and his siblings, Wilma Curtis (Fordson), Fern Tackbury (Edward), Dora Lou Graves (Duane) and Cecil Palmer Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Betty Palmer; his daughters, Judy Engel (Mike) and Kimberly Wilson; his grandchildren, Kendra Perry (Levi), Matthew Canfield and Aaron Engel (Allison); and his siblings, Dorreen Madison, Mavis Grim and Janet Wright. He is also survived by 10 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
