He was predeceased by: his parents, H. Ivan King and Winifred King (Sanford); and his brothers, Ivan, Richard and Robert.
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Ann Miller; his sons, Steve (Luella) of Big Rapids and Kevin (Cheryl) of Oxford; his grandchildren, Brianna, Marissa (Mary), Alexander and Christopher; his great grandchildren, Ellery and Jude; and his brother Thomas (Sharon). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Michigan College of Optometry.
